Suspects, including a 15-year-old juvenile, face more than 150 counts of vehicle burglary

Six people, including a 15-year-old juvenile, have been arrested in connection with a string of vehicle burglaries and thefts, mostly in the Slidell area, northshore authorities announced Tuesday.

Four of the suspects are from New Orleans. The other two, including the juvenile, are from the northshore, authorities said.

"We've had over 200 victims here on the northshore since May where their vehicles were burglarized," says Slidell Police Chief Randy Smith.

"We had over 10 handguns that were stolen from this area and were sold by these individuals on the street for quick cash in the city of New Orleans," Smith said.

The six suspects have been booked with more than 150 counts of vehicle burglary.

The arrests were the result of a joint investigation by the Slidell Police Department and the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office.
