19-year-old booked into Orleans jail following shooting incident Monday morning at apartment building on Esplanade

A 19-year-old LSU student has been booked into the Orleans Parish Prison on a charge of attempted first-degree murder after she allegedly fired three shots into a door at her mother's apartment.

The shooting occurred around 4:30AM Monday at the Esplanade at City Park apartment building along Bayou St. John on Esplanade Avenue.

Nicole Boover allegedly conspired with another LSU student, 18-year-old Nathan Yuhas of Pennsylvania, who has been charged with being a principal to attempted first-degree murder.

Authorities allege that the motive was to collect an inheritance.  Boover allegedly offered to provide Yuhas $50,000 for his help.

After firing into the door, investigators say Boover fled and the two were arrested in Baton Rouge after LSU police were contacted by Boover's stepfather.
