Don't park on Marconi Drive neutral ground or on grounds bordering Bayou St. John

With tens of thousands of people expected to converge on City Park for the Voodoo Music Experience this weekend, the big question is - where can you legally park?

City spokesman Ryan Berni says parking is available for $10 per day at Delgado Community College in the parking lot at the corner of City Park Avenue and Marconi Drive.

Parking is available inside City Park at designated areas for $20 per day, as directed by park officials.

Parking is also available along Marconi Drive and City Park Avenue, and in the surrounding neighborhoods.

Parking is NOT allowed on the neutral ground on Marconi Drive or on the grounds that border Bayou St. John.

The city says pay close attention to "no parking" signs as the city will ticket or tow vehicles. Parking enforcement officers will be looking for illegal parking, including blocking hydrants, driveways and sidewalks, or parking too close to a crosswalk, intersection or stop sign. You have to park at least 20 feet away.

Motorists should also park in the direction of travel on one-way streets and with the right wheel to the curb on two-way streets.
