Alvin May was shot in the head while sitting in his vehicle October 19
A 16-year-old New Orleans East boy has been charged with the murder of a college student.
24-year-old Valan May was shot in the head as he sat in a vehicle in the 7800 block of Burke Street on October 19th. He died the following day.
After collecting evidence at the scene and conducting several interviews, detectives were able to identify the teenager as the suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest.
He was taken into custody without incident Friday morning at his home in the 8900 block of Curran Boulevard and booked in the Juvenile Division with one count of second-degree murder.
May was a sophomore at UNO and was majoring in film arts.
