But LSU head coach says his Tigers will be ready
LSU Coach Les Miles says top-ranked Alabama will challenge his team Saturday night in Tiger Stadium, but his team is up to the challenge.
Speaking on the SEC Football Coaches Media Teleconference Wednesday, Miles called the Nick Saban-coached Crimson Tide "a very good, quality football team."
"It's a great challenge. We enjoy the matchup. We like our guys. We think that our guys will step in and handle that challenge well."
Miles said he's not sure how big the LSU-Alabama rivalry is nationally, but the outcome of the game means a lot in determining the teams' standings in the SEC West.
"This is a matchup that generally can decide the lead for the West and then the opportunity to play in the SEC championsip game."
The LSU-Alabama matchup will be televised nationally on CBS. Kickoff is set for shortly after 7pm.
