Halloween was free of shootings this year

The city of New Orleans made it through Halloween without an reported incidents of violence this year.

It was a sharp contrast to what happened in the city on Halloween 2011.

Last year, two persons were killed and twelve persons were injured in a series of shootings including one on Bourbon Street at St. Louis in the French Quarter.

This year,no incidents of trouble were reported in the city.

As Halloween revelers headed to the French Quarter Wednesday night, extra police officers were dispatched to guard against trouble.  170 officers were deployed in the French Quarter and CBD.
