6 batmobiles will be on display prior to the Saints-Eagles game

Pre-game festivities for tonight's Saint-Eagles game at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome will feature a display of batmobiles, from the one used in the 1960s TV series "Batman" to the one used in the latest Batman movie.

The batmobiles are on tour to promote the Dec. 4 home entertainment release of "The Dark Knight Rises".

They'll be on display from 10am to 7pm outside "Gate H" on the concourse level.

Superdome General Manager Alan Freeman says Champions Square will open at 4pm.

"We are opening Champions Square a little bit earlier than normal, encouraging people who just want to stay downtown to come on over and start the pre-game festivities a little bit earlier than normal."

Popular local band Bag of Donuts will perform on the Champions Square stage, and Club 44 will also be open.

The Dome will open at 5:30pm, and Freeman advises fans to get there early.

"As has been the case all year, we're going to be doing the full metal detectiion prior to fans entering. So we would ask them to allow a few extra minutes because of that," Freeman said.
