Funds for improvements to N.O. Arena and repairs to Zephyrs stadium remain in construction budget

The Jindal administration has made cuts in the state's construction budget, eliminating $200,000 for renovations to the UNO Human Performance Center and $75,000 earmarked for a New Orleans civil rights museum.

The Baton Rouge Advocate reports that the state legislature approved a $4.3 billion multi-year budget filled with more projects thn the state could afford, so the Governor had to pare the list.  The newspaper reports that the budget was over-appropriated by millions of dollars.

Remaining in the capital outlay budget are $21.5 million for improvements to the New Orleans Arena and $800,000 for repairs to the Zephyrs' baseball stadium in Jefferson Parish.
