Governor offers congratulations to President

Governor Bobby Jindal, who made a signficant number of out-of-state campaign trips on behalf of Republican candidates and Mitt Romney, has offered his reaction to the Tuesday elections.

In a brief statement issued by his office, Jindal offered congratulations to Barack Obama for "winning and running a hard-fought campaign."  He also praised Romney for running "a strong race" and a campaign he and his staffers can be "proud" of.

"The long campaign season is now over.  I know there are folks who want to analyze the campaign tactics and play Monday morning quarterback about the future of the political parties.  There will be plenty of time to do that.  Here in Louisiana we will continue to do what we have always done, and that means standing up for our people and doing what we think is right no matter who is President."
