Serving cafe' au lait and beignets as well as park favorites
Morning Call opened quietly this week at City Park's Casino building.
Co-owner Bob Hennessey tells 99.5FM they hope to have a grand opening with dignitaries in attendance in about two weeks.
They're not open 24/7 yet as they're still hiring staff. Hennessey says right now, their business hours are 8am to 10pm, seven days a week. Hours will increase as they hire more staff.
Hennessy says in addition to cafe' au lait and beignets, they'll be serving park favorites.
"Popcorn is a big thing at the park that the patrons like, and we're doing the old soft serve ice cream, swirly cones."
And with ample parking in front, Hennessey says they're thinking about bringing back curb service.
"People would pull up in their cars, waiters would go to their cars, serve them with, like, a little tray hooked to their window, and we're thinking about bringing that back. Maybe on a limited basis, maybe weekends."
