26-year-old man shot in driveway on Avondale Garden Road
Jefferson Parish Sheriff's investigators are searching for clues in a Thursday night murder in Avondale.
The victim, 26-year-old Christopher Williams, was found shot to death around 7:30pm in the driveway of a home in the 300 block of Avondale Garden Road. A number of spent 9mm shell casings were found near his body.
Witnesses reported seeing a group of men standing in the driveway before they heard gunshots. They told investigators they saw two men running into an empty field across the street and another flee into the house where the shooting occurred.
The subject inside the house was taken in for questioning.
Homocide detectives have not been able to determine a motive nor identify any of the suspects.
