Hornets GM Gets Multi-Year Contract Extension

42-year-old Dell Demps joined the franchise in July 2010

The general manager of the New Orleans Hornets has been given a multi-year contract extension.

42-year-old Dell Demps became the seventh GM of the franchise in July 2010.

Terms of his contract were not released.

"I would like to thank Mr. Benson, his family and Mickey Loomis for their faith and confidence in me with this great commitment,” said Demps.

“I love the city of New Orleans and am fortunate enough to be surrounded by great people that make us a great organization. I look forward to working with Coach Monty Williams and producing a team to make the people of New Orleans proud to call their own.”    

Demps had a three-year NBA career with Golden State, Orlando and San Antonio and came to New Orleans from the Spurs whom he joined n 2005 as Director of Pro Player Personnel.  He later was promoted to VP of Basketball Operations.
