Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office captured Reginald Batiste and Domonique Battle this morning who escaped from temporary jail "tents" Sunday night
The Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office has apprehended Reginald Batiste and Domonique Battle in separate incidents between 10 a.m. and 10:40 am this morning.
Investigators captured Reginald Batiste without incident at approximately 10 a.m., in the 4900 block of Dreaux St., in New Orleans. Before the escape, Batiste was booked on April 24 2012.
Domonique Battle was apprehended without incident at 10:38 a.m., in the 700 block of Majestic St., in Algiers. He was originally booked on November 24, 2012.
Both inmates are currently in the custody of the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office. Batiste and Battle were each booked with one count of simple escape.
The Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office has intensified its search for Michael Washington, who was booked Jan. 11, 2012, and remains at-large.
The three Orleans Parish Prison inmates escaped from the Temporary Housing Center at the jail around 9 o'clock Sunday night by cutting a hole in the tent in which they were being held and scaling a razor wire fence.
25-year-old Reginald Batiste was being held on charges of possession of a firearm and distribution of crack cocaine. 51-year-old Michael Washington was in custody on a charge of possession of crack cocaine and 22-year-old Domonique Battle was being held on a second-offense charge of possession of marijuana.
