While the name is being withheld, the new colors will be red, gold and blue
The New Orleans Hornets will have a new name and a new color scheme next season.
The news comes from Gayle Benson, wife of team owner, Tom Benson.
Mrs. Benson says the name will not be released until the end of the current season.
"We can't talk about the name now, but we will be doing it as soon as the season is over," she told Fox 8's Jennifer Hale.
The team's new color scheme will be red, gold and navy blue.
"The gold is just really pretty, the red looks good on everybody and then the navy is going to be a very nice compliment to the team," she said.
The Benson's wanted to use the color black, but the NBA wouldn't allow it since several other teams in the league already employing black in their team colors.
