Bills have been sent by Sheriff's Office
St. Tammany Parish Sheriff Jack Stain has put over 130,000 property tax bills in the mail.
The bills are calculated by the Assessor's office, but mailed and collected by the Sheriff.
For the first time this year, the sheriff's office also is collecting property taxes for the towns of Abita Springs and Pearl River.
Payments are due by December 31.
Property owners may pay their bills at the Justice Center at 701 Columbia Street in Covington or at the sheriff's Slidell Administrative Complex at 300 Brownswitch Road weekdays between the hours of 8AM and 4:30PM. Cash, checks and credit cards are accepted.
