Closures needed to accomodate construction of levee-related work
Lane closures are planned at the south end of the Causeway this week to accomodate construction work related to the risk-reduction project being completed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
The left lane of northbound Causeway Boulevard in Metairie will be closed beginning at 6th Street from 7AM to 2:30PM daily through Friday along with the 6th Street turning lane. The closure is needed as piles are being driven for a new canopy.
The left lane of southbound Causeway Boulevard will be closed to 6th Street from 9:30AM to 3:30PM each day for fiber splicing and painting.
Construction of the risk-reduction project on the south end of the Causeway is due to be completed in early 2013.
