Happened Sunday night on Pratt Drive near Filmore

A New Orleans man became the victim of an armed robbery at 9:30pm Sunday night while hanging Christmas decorations outside his residence in the 5400 block of Pratt Drive in the Gentilly area.

The 30-year-old victim was approached by three men who ordered him off a ladder at gunpoint. He was forced inside his home by the gun-toting criminals where they bound his wrists with zip ties.

The armed robbers, described as three African-American males, searched his house for about 15 minutes and collected cash, a cell phone, two laptop computers, a tablet device, jewelry, luggage and a wallet before they fled.

Investigators say all three men were armed and two were wearing black hooded sweatshirts and black bandanas.

The man was able to free himself with a pair of scissors after the robbers left and call police.
