Payments postmarked by Jan. 2 will not incur interest charges
Property tax bills are being placed in the mail for 176,489 property owners in Jefferson Parish.
Sheriff Newell Normand says the bills will become deliquent if not paid by January 2. Payments postmarked by then will not incur interest charges.
Self-addressed envelopes are included with the bills. The first batch was mailed on Monday.
Payments may be made in person at the Jefferson Parish Government Building at 200 Derbigny Street in Gretna. A drop box for payment by check is available on the first floor of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office at 3300 Metairie Road.
Questions regarding the amount of assessment, changes in the mailing address and the homestead exemption should be addressed to the Jefferson Parish Assessor.
