Captures suspect who shot man on Claiborne near Esplanade
An Orleans Parish Sheriff's Deputy intervened in an armed robbery Thursday morning while he was in the process of conducting an unrelated investigation.
The deputy witnessed two men involved in a confrontation on Claiborne Avenue near Esplanade around 7AM and heard gunshots.
As the officer approached the men, the suspect allegedly dropped a gun and began to flee. The deputy chased the man and subdued him.
26-year-old Isaac Hill was charged with aggravated assault and armed robbery.
The victim suffered two wounds to his stomach and was listed in critical condition at University Hospital.
