Voluntary evacuation for Doyline, LA is lifted
State police say another 200,000 pounds of improperly stored explosive material at north Louisiana's Camp Minden has been safely moved and stored.
Thursday's work brought the total amount of explosive propellant moved in six days to about 2.2 million pounds. State police had estimated 6 million pounds was improperly stored when work began Saturday.
The operation will resume on Monday.
On Friday, authorities lifted a voluntary evacuation for the nearby town of Doyline. Many in the town of 800 never left or have already returned.
The explosives were stored at Explo Systems Inc., a business that leases land at the state's Camp Minden industrial site.
