Victim was shot during an attempted armed robbery Monday night

A 22-year-old New Orleans man has been arrested in the murder Monday night of an Algiers man during a robbery attempt at a home in the 6400 block of Brunswick Court around 9:45PM.

Investigators say 35-year-old Cory Bush apparently surprised three gunmen who had entered his house and demanded money from an occupant of the home.

As he arrived at his house, Bush was shot in the chest.  He collapsed in a driveway and was pronounced dead on the scene.

The NOPD has arrested Bobby James on a charge of second-degree murder as officers search for the other suspects.

James reportedly has been arrested previously on charges of simple burglary and carrying illegal weapons.
