Local clinics, urgent care centers are seeing more people with flu or flu-like symptoms
If you've got the flu, you're not alone. Many local clinics and urgent care centers report they're seeing more people coming in seeking treatment for the flu or flu-like illnesses.
Infectious disease specialist Dr. Brobson Lutz says the current flu season is hitting New Orleans harder than the last one.
"Influenza is the sudden onset of really feeling bad, fever, chills, I mean you feel like a freight train hit you," Lutz said.
Lutz says the people being impacted by the flu are the ones who didn't get a flu shot, but it's not too late to get one.
