Average prices up 4 cents per gallon in N.O. area in past week

Gas prices have begun to rise again after hitting a 2012 low of $3.22 in mid-December.

Rising crude oil prices are blamed in part for the increases.  Crude prices have jumped about $10 per gallon in the past month.

The nationwide average price of a gallon of regular is $3.30 per gallon.

In the New Orleans area, regular is selling for an average of $3.17 per gallon and a gallon of premium is averaging $3.52, up about 4 cents each in the past week.

Nationwide, the AAA expects gas to average less than $3.60 this year.
