Victim was shot in front of her children on South Roman Street
A suspect has been arrested in the December shooting death of an Uptown woman who was killed in front of her children
26-year-old Tiara Reynolds was killed and three other persons were injured in the shooting incident December 1 in a driveway in the 2800 block of South Roman Street.
The suspect, 28-year-old Larry Haynes, was arrested early Tuesday morning at the home of a former girlfriend in Kentwood. He was taken into custody without incident by members of the NOPD's Violent Offenders Warrant Squad and the U.S. Marshals.
Haynes, who has a lengthy criminal record, was to be transferred Wednesday from the Tangiopahoa Parish jail to Orleans Parish Prison.
He has been charged with one count of first-degree murder and three counts of attempted first-degree murder.
A tip from Crimestoppers reportedly led authorities to search for Haynes in Kentwood.
Pointing to a record that includes afrests for first-degree murder during a crime, extortion, battery on a police officer and narcotics possession charges, Superintendent Ronal Serpas said Haynes "had no business walking the streets last month and should never had have the opportunity to kill this mother in front of her children."
