National Weather Service expects rising water to flood roads but not homes
The National Weather Service says areas along the Tchefuncte River near Folsom could flood as the river is expected to crest at 17.5 feet, which is a foot and a half above flood stage, this evening.
Forecaster Phil Grigsby tells 99.5FM parts of Spring Park and Albert Thompson Road near the river could flood, but homes are not expected to be impacted.
"When we get up closer to the 18 and a half-19 foot range is when we begin to see homes possibly taking on water," Grigsby said.
After cresting, the Tchefuncte River is expected to fall through the night and go below flood stage Wednesday afternoon.
