They're looking for any available assault weapons and ammo, gun store manager says

New Orleans-area gun stores reported an increase in customers after President Obama unveiled his proposals for curbing gun violence Wednesday.

Jason Gregory, manager of Gretna Gun Works, tells 99.5FM, "I've been flooded with people looking for AR-15 type rifles and anything semiautomatic, military-type ammunition for them, magazines, just people coming in by the droves trying to find what they can."

Gregory says because of the current run on assault weapons and ammo, he's been able to scrape up a few guns from his suppliers but no ammo or magazines.

Obama is urging Congress to act to toughen gun laws by reinstating the assault weapons ban and renewing a 10-round limit on the size of ammunition magazines. He also wants to require background checks on all gun sales, including those at gun shows.
