Overhead light repair will continue through end of the month
Between now and the end of January, crews from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development will repair overhead lighting on the elevated portions of the West Bank and Pontchartrain Expressways.
The department says approximately 65 overhead lights are in need of repair, mostly between Terry Parkway and Ames Boulevard.
The work has been scheduled between the hours of 8AM and 4PM and it will require intermittent lane closures in each direction. Motorists are urged to be on the lookout for crews and their equipment.
The DOTD reports it has completed work on the decorative lighting system on the Crescent City Connnection. A total of 35 lamps have been replaced on the two bridges.
Both projects were funded by CCC toll revenue.
