Vehicles are banned from the Boston Street parade route

Covington parade goers won't be able to park on Boston Street to view the city's Carnival parades.

The city has banned parking along the Boston Street parade route to protect the sidewalks which are undergoing reconstruction as part of a beautification project.

"We want to prohibit vehicles from parking there during the parades because we don't want to disturb the project," says Pam Keller, in charge of special projects for the city.

Keller tells 99.5FM parade goers shouldn't have a problem finding a parking spot in the downtown area.

"We have ample parking downtown that your vehicle will be in a lit area and very convenient and close to walking to the parade route," Keller said.
