Moon pies, boas and beads that match the colors of the teams in the Super Bowl are hot sellers
The people who sell Carnival throws to float riders report booming business.
C.J. Graves, manager of Tommey's Mardi Gras in Metairie, tells 99.5FM business is definitely better this year than in years past.
"We're seeing a lot more people come out and they're a lot more into it. I think everybody's just ready for a big party," Graves said.
"The krewes are buying all kinds of trinkets and stuffed animals, but the main thing they buy are moon pies from us."
Float riders are also buying beads that match the colors of the teams in the Super Bowl, and boas are hot-selling items as well, Graves said.
