Coverage begins today from Jackson Square, Woldenberg Park and other locations
New Orleans begins its week in the national spotlight today as 5,000 media members launch their coverage of Super Bowl XLVII.
ESPN and the NFL Network will offer 140 hours of coverage.
CBS, which will carry the game next Sunday, will broadcast a series of shows from Jackson Square, including CBS This Morning. The CBS Evening News will emanate from New Orleans on Friday and Saturday nights. The CBS program "Face the Nation" will be broadcast from Jackson Square on Sunday.
CBS will also tape daily episodes of its program "The Talk" at Jackson Square.
Guests will include Neil Patrick Harris and Vanessa Williams and locals like Drew Brees and Emeril Lagasse. Brees is scheduled to appear in the program broadcast Thursday and Lagasse is scheduled to appear on Friday's show.
The program airs locally on Channel 4 at 1PM.
