Entertainment kicks off at 2pm today

Family Gras kicks off today in Metairie on the neutral ground along Veterans Blvd. between Causeway and Severn.

With no parades scheduled to roll in New Orleans this weekend, Super Bowl visitors will have to go outside the city to attend a Carnival parade.

To make it easy for them to get there, officials have set up a free shuttle from downtown New Orleans to the site of Family Gras, where they can enjoy the festivities there as well as catch a parade.

Family Gras, a celebration of Carnival and Family, features live music on an outdoor stage.

"We have Amanda Shaw, we have Creedence Clearwater Revisited, we have Katie Armiger," says Jefferson Parish President John Young.

" We have ZZ Ward, Big Bad VooDoo Daddy, Cowboy Mouth and to top it all off, the finale on Saturday is Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons," Young said.

The music starts at 2pm today and at Noon on Saturday.
