The new product is sugar-free and non-toxic, company president says
New Orleans biotechnology company Theodent has unveiled its new sugar free, chocolate-flavored toothpaste for children called "Theodent Kids".
Theodent's President/CEO Arman Sadeghpour says "Theodent Kids" actually tastes like chocolate, is fluoride-free and has the same cavity fighting properties as regular Theodent, which contains Rennou, an extract from chocolate that strengthens tooth enamel.
"There's an active ingredient in chocolate that actually works better than fluoride to remineralize the surface of teeth," Sadeghpour said in an interview with 99.5FM.
He says "Theodent Kids" is non-toxic and safe to swallow.
The product is available for purchase online at the company's website, theodent.com, and will be available at select Whole Foods Markets beginning March 4. It sells for $9.99.
