Founder of Louisiana Seafood Board Passes On

Mike Voisin was the owner of Motivatit Seafood

The founder of the Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board, Mike Voisin has died from a heart ailment in Houma.

In addition to founding the seafood board, Voisin was also the owner of Motivatit Seafood and Chairman of the Gulf Coast Seafood Coalition

The 59-year-old Voisin died in intensive care from a massive heart condition while at Terrebonne General Hospital in his hometown of Houma.

Congressman Steve Scalise described Voisin as a "tireless champion for Louisiana seafood, and the oyster industry in particular."  He says Voisin's passing will leave a "tremendous void" in our hospitality industry."
