Real estate mogul sounds off in interview with Fox and Friends
Real estate mogul Donald Trump has criticized Bobby Jindal for the governor's recent remarks that the GOP needs to stop being the "stupid party."
In an appearance Monday on the Fox cable show Fox and Friends, Trump said, "I think he was stupid for using that term, because that term is so obnoxious, and so good for the other side."
"He should not have used that term. That term is going to be living now with the Republican Party for a long time, and they're going to have his face on television saying it for the next four years."
Jindal first made the comment last month during a meeting of the Republican National Committee.
The Governor said, “We’ve got to stop being the stupid party."
"It’s time for a new Republican Party that talks like adults,” Jindal said. “We had a number of Republicans damage the brand this year with offensive and bizarre comments. I’m here to say we’ve had enough of that.”
Trump said he thought the use of the word stupid was a "disgrace" and shouldn't have been used.
"I thought it was very demeaning to the Republican party."
