Babylon, Chaos and Muses roll Uptown
A Carnival parade tripleheader tonight as Babylon, Chaos and Muses roll one right after the other on the Uptown route - Babylon first at 5:45 followed by Chaos and Muses at 6:30.
"A lot of people think Mardi Gras weekend actually starts on Thursday with that tripleheader, and I haven't counted up all the floats but it's a bunch of 'em," says Mardi Gras Guide publisher Arthur Hardy.
As for the throws, Hardy said of Babylon, "They have some lighted, medallion beads and of course they do doubloons and all, and it's a very traditional krewe."
Chaos will unveil a new, secret theme-related throw and will also throw float-specific cards.
According to the Mardi Gras Guide, Muses will throw "ray guns", but the all-female krewe is known for a different type of throw.
"Muses is known for their hand decorated shoes which they don't throw but they hand out to a lucky few," Hardy said.
