Attorney Bill Hines is King of Carnival

At age 56, he's one of the youngest to fill the role

New Orleans attorney Bill Hines who was instrumental in the effort to bring the Hornets to New Orleans in 2002, is Rex, King of Carnival.

At age 56, Hines is one the youngest to fill the role. He learned of his selection last November.

His queen is Nina O'Brien Sloss an international affairs major at the University of Georgia.

Hines is the managing partner of the Jones Walker law firm and has served on the boards of a number of civic, business and charitable organizations including the United Way, the Council for a Better Louisiana, the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation, the World War II Museum and the former MetroVision organization. 

He currently serves as chairman of the Idea Village and as a commissioner of the Downtown Development District.
