No comment yet from founder Stephen Rehage

Billboard Magazine reports that the founder of the Voodoo Music Festival, Stephen Rehage, has sold the event to SFX Entertainment.

Rehage, who launched the festival in 1999, has had no comment on the report.

The President of SFX has told the New York Times that as he purchases events like the Voodoo Fest his intention is to allow the founders to continue to run them.

Robert Sillerman told Billboard, "Voodoo has been operated on as a sole practitioner on relatively small level, and we think it has upside not just in New Orleans but elsewhere. It's a fabulous name, amongst other things, so we think we'll be able to help Steve [Rehage], the owner and operator, take that to other markets."

The Voodoo Fest is held every year around Halloween and is scheduled to be held November 1-3 at the newly built festival grounds at City Park.  The lineup has not yet been announced.
