More catch basins cleaned, potholes filled in 2012
Mayor Mitch Landrieu says his administration made progress in addressing "quality of life" issues in the city in 2012.
He has released a year end report that shows most city departments met or exceeded their performance goals last year.
Landrieu says there was a 61% increase in the number of catch basins cleaned in the city over 2011, a 13% increase in the number of potholes filled and a 43% increase in the number of tax and public nuisance cases filed by the city's Alcohol Beverage Outlet Board.
The mayor says his administration also is on track to meet the goal of reducing the number of blighted properties by 10,000 by 2014.
Additionally, Landrieu says the city is showing "significant progress" in paying its vendors in a timely manner.
