Website reports that Senator and her husband have paid a tax penalty owed to the District of Columbia
According to the website, dailycaller.com, Senator Mary Landrieu and her husband have paid a tax penalty owed to the District of Columbia on their Capitol Hill home.
The home is valued at about $2.3 million according to online assessments and the couple reportedly owed a penalty of $1,206,95.
"Senator Landrieu and her husband believed that property taxes on their D.C. residence were paid in full by the required due date of September 15, 2012," said Amber McDowell, a spokeswoman for the Senator.
"They found out earlier this month that that wasn't the case and have worked with their attorney to satisfy the outstanding balances. A final payment has been submitted to the D.C. government to resolve this issue," McDowell said.
