Salary was approved by Ethics and Compliance Commission
Jefferson Parish's first inspector general, David McClintock, will be paid an annual salary of $150,000.
The salary was negotiated in advance and approved this week by the Jefferson Parish Ethics and Compliance Commission, the panel that selected McClintock, who served as Baltimore's inspector general.
Ethics Commission chair Carroll Suggs says McClintock will have to set up an office and hire staff.
"He has no office, no phone, no cable, no nothing. So from the ground up he has to start everything," Suggs said.
McClintock starts his new job March 18.
