LSU football legend suffered a stroke last Tuesday
As he rests at home following a stroke last Tuesday, the family of LSU football legend Billy Cannon says the 75-year-old dentist is expected to make a quick recovery.
LSU's only Heisman Trophy winner has some "residual health issues" according to his family. But his daughter Bunnie says her father is getting stronger every day and doctors project his health will return to normal in four to six weeks.
Cannon suffered the stroke while working at Angola Prison where he provides dental services.
"My family and I would like to thank everyone so much for the supportive emails, calls and prayers during the last week," said Bunnie Cannon, adding, "They worked!"
"We also wish to thank the doctors, nurses and employees of Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. They were wonderful and saw that he received the best possible care."
