May be that of a New Orleans man who disappeared last year
A decomposed body discovered along Florissant Highway in St. Bernard Parish Tuesday afternoon may be that of a New Orleans man who went missing last year.
According to the Times-Picayune, law enforcement personnel were directed to the scene by an associate of the missing man. It's believed the man was murdered and his body was buried in the rural area of St. Bernard.
The newspaper reports that a warrant to conduct excavation at the site was obtained last week but rainy weather delayed the effort until Tuesday.
The Orleans Parish Coroner will be in charge of identifying the remains.
There has been no comment on the investigation from the NOPD.
