The 2013 FQF will feature 21 stages and 1,400 local and Louisiana-based musicians
The French Quarter Festival (FQF), which turns 30 this year, will be held over a 4-day period from Thursday, April 11 through Sunday, April 14.
Known as the largest free music festival in the South, the 2013 fest will feature 21 stages and 1,400 local and Louisiana-based musicians.
"Everyone from the Soul Rebels and George Porter, Jr. & the Runnin' Pardners. For the first time, the NOLA Nightingale Revue, which is all those great female vocalists from the city," says Marci Schramm, executive director of the festival.
Schramm says for its 30th anniversary celebration, the festival is bringing back the night time concert series, sponsored by Chevron.
Tourism officials call FQF the kickoff to the festival season in New Orleans. The 2012 festival hosted over 574,000 local and out-of-town visitors and had an economic impact of over $260 million.
