Small pickup hit the truck, causing it to crash; no injuries reported
Jefferson Parish firefighters say a small pickup hit a dump truck causing it to crash in to a house that started a 2-alarm fire near the intersection of South Causeway Boulevard and River Road.
Joe Greco, director of fire for the East Bank Consolidated Fire Department, says no one was injured.
Greco tells The Times-Picayune that a 27-year-old woman was inside the home Friday morning when the truck crashed through it and caught fire. She was able to escape the home with the help of a passer-by, who broke a jammed window.
The house and the dump truck were heavily damaged by the fire.
