Will undergo surgery for shoulder injury
The Hornets say forward Jason Smith will be out for the rest of the season with a shoulder injury.
The team reports that Smith has a suffered a torn labrum in his right shoulder and will undergo surgery this week.
Smith appeared in 51 games for the Hornets this season, averaging 8.2 points and 3.6 rebounds in 17:10 minutes per game. He is currently ranked third on the team with a 0.490 field goal percentage (167-for-341).
The status of rookie Anthony Davis is listed as day-to-day. Davis is nursing a left shoulder sprain.
