Projects should be completed by late summer
Two more bumpy roads in New Orleans are about to undergo resurfacing.
The DOTD has announced that City Park Avenue will be repaved between Canal Street and Orleans Avenue and Esplanade Avenue will be resurfaced between Moss Street and Claiborne Avenue.
That portion of Esplanade will be restriped as one travel lane in both directions with a bicycle lane and parking lane.
The $5 million contract for the projects, which will include repairing curbs and installing ADA-compliant ramps, was awarded to Barriere Construction.
The work should be completed this summer.
Mayor Landrieu says the improvements will "greatly enhance the safety and quality of life for the community, residents and businesses in this area."
