JPSO says Shane Kersey admitted to calling schools in Marrero and Lafitte, along with two in Plaquemines Parish
The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office arrested a Lafitte man Wednesday for making phone calls to two West Jefferson Parish schools where he threatened to burn the schools down and harm children.
Investigators reviewing the messages found the phone number where the calls were made and when they called the number back, Kersey answered. When asked if he made the phone calls, Kersey said he made four in all - two to schools in Jefferson, the others to schools in Plaquemines Parish.
When brought in for further questioning, Kersey said the tin foil on his head was to block microwave signals.
Kersey faces two counts of terrorizing in Jefferson Parish. He's also wanted on a simple burglary warrant in Plaquemines Parish. His criminal history includes multiple arrests on various charges.
The all-clear was given for the Marrero Academy for Advanced Studies and Fisher Middle-High School after no threatening devices were found.
