Charged with vehicular homicide in death of 51-year-old woman
A 21-year-old Covington man is facing a charge of vehicular homicide following the death of a pedestrian who was struck Sunday night in the Normand Oaks subdivision in the Covington area.
Authorities filed the charge against William Seither, Jr. after the victim, 51-year-old Lisa Pitre, succumbed to her injuries on Monday.
Pitre was struck by Seither's vehicle around 8:30PM Sunday on Carroll Drive.
After he reported the accident, Seither submitted to testing and was charged with DWI, careless operation and negligent injuring. The sheriff's office says impairment and speed were believed to be contributing factors.
