4 dogs lived with the victim and her boyfriend on Avenue A
A 54-year-old Westwego woman was in critical condition after being attacked Wednesday by four pit bulls she and her boyfriend kept in their home in the 300 block of Avenue A.
It's not clear what may have provoked the attack which cost Linda Henry an eye, an ear and both of her arms.
The four dogs, three males and one male ranging in age from 2 to 8-years old, were shot to death when they turned on police officers who responded to the incident.
It appears the dogs attacked Henry as she came through the front door of the house.
Henry's boyfriend, Clarence Allen, told the Times-Picayune, he had no idea why the dogs attacked saying he had raised them from puppies.
He told the newspaper, "They never had a fight, I don't understand it."
