Governor spoke Friday to meeting of conservatives
Governor Bobby Jindal deleted any reference to the "stupid party" as he delivered a speech Friday to members of the Conservative Political Action Committee.
Jindal had drawn criticism in some quarters, most notably from Donald Trump, when he urged GOP party members to "stop being the stupid party" in a January 24 address to the winter meeting of the Republican National Committee.
Trump warned in his own CPAC speech before Jindal's appearance that the governor's comment in January would "haunt" the party in the future.
In advance of his prepared remarks, Jindal revisted some of the jokes he made at the recent Gridiron Dinner, poking fun at his size and ethnicity.
The bulk of his speech Friday was a repeat of the message he delivered in January, some of it verbatim.
